Thank you very much, Sameer ji, and I thank the entire SKOCH family for considering me worthy of this prestigious award.
Many people ask me, when they know my background, why I left everything and entered politics. I tell them that the guiding principle of my life—as Dr. Bibek Debroy also mentioned—is: Service is the highest duty (Seva Parmo Dharma).
If I am able to serve, there are two reasons. First, the people of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh have blessed me immensely. I contested elections there in 2014 and 2019, and both times I won with record margins—especially in 2019, with a margin of 478,000 votes.
The second reason is that the support behind my service is my wife, Punita ji, who is present here today.
Therefore, this award that you have given me, I dedicate it to the people of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh and to my wife.
